I guess it’s the Miami girl in me who really doesn’t get excited for Fall or the Fall Fashion that it should come with. I always find myself leaning towards summer colors and styles and struggling just a bit to put looks together when temperatures go down (about 5 times a year). I also have a philosophy about my closet that sticks to “quality vs. quantity”. I really enjoy getting multiple wears out of my clothing, which is why I typically invest in classic pieces. I am trying to be more adventurous though!
The solution to my tiny closet as well as my “Winter Blues” is shopping pieces I can use all year round as well as mix & match to get my money’s worth. This double breasted Dover Blazer from JCrew is first of all OH SO PRETTY, but also one of those pieces I would have totally regretted not getting my hands on. I have been wearing it in the summer even over shorts and I know it will be on repeat as it gets cooler later this year.
I also have a little secret for the busty ladies! I struggle with finding button down shirts that won’t pull on my chest while also fitting nicely around the torso. If you have a bigger bust, I am sure you know the struggle of falling in love with a dress or shirt that fits beautifully around the waist, but the button around the bust is getting ready to pop!
Well, I am actually wearing a men’s short sleeve oxford from Jcrew in an XS. Since men are naturally broad in the shoulders, these shirts are cut in a way that is still slim on the torso, but gives me enough room to comfortably button it up.
I tend to gravitate towards accessories that are in the nude or blush family. I really don’t own black shoes except for a pair of nikes and some louboutins that are the death of any feet that attempt to wear them. I guess it’s a matter of preference, but I feel like if you are investing in designer pumps (which unfortunately are the ones with the sexiest toe cleavage and heel height) you should start with nude. They look great with an all black look and they go with absolutely anything. Not to mention they are very feminine and make your legs look longer!
